The bad: losing my hard drive – I learned a few days ago that NOTHING was recoverable from the drive. I am only medium blue, because some things I did save to my external hard drive.
The ugly: getting older – more wrinkles, hard work to maintain muscle strength, and aches and pains associated with arthritis. Perseverance is the name of the game, but discouraging to know it’s all downhill from here.

The good: more than enough to balance off the bad and the ugly. Publishing my second book, having a vacation in Chicago with my daughter and son-in-law, my trip to Maine, seeing my son (briefly), sky-diving (!), getting to the end of my third book and sending it off to beta readers, swimming anywhere there was water, and of course, the interaction with my family of bloggers. Never a dull moment there and lots to stimulate my brain. Learning should definitely be life-long.

Oh boy, you are too kind! I’m actually 71 but the pic was taken last year, so I guess I’m holding up well so far. I TOLD that photographer not to photoshop me 😉 !

I’m pleased the good outweigh the bad and ugly! I’m pleased you didn’t lose too much of your work. I have just starting backing up on Drop Box. I think I’m going to find that good. Also, irregularly, save to an external hard drive.

Yup, Saving work is work! Carbonite is a cloud service, I think. You pay monthly. The downside is that I’m firmly convinced that nothing you save on the cloud is truly safe. Hackers hack. But most of what I have would be boring to them, I’m sure. Hardly worth their effort.

always better when the good outweighs the bad. I hate it when I lose work that I’d saved, or though so at least. Happened to me more than once so you’d think I’d have learned my lesson by now!
I’m a piscean so any trip to be near water always gets my vote 🙂
I’m a Virgo, so go figure WHY water has such a huge attraction for me. Maybe because I grew up looking at an ocean? But I like ponds, lakes, streams, rivers – anything water.
