A pictorial essay of what is currently in bloom around our house and pool, with a few comments. Enjoy! It’s spring!
Not sure you can see the load of blossoms on our weeping cherry tree. They are dropping already, leading to what we call pink snow!
Some late blooming daffodils in the garden:
Some as yet unpotted blooms on the porch.
We have some lovely azaleas also in bloom.
And one even had a yellow visitor!
Do you think these are blossoms on our bushes in the front of the house?
Nope, it’s our last snowfall!
I love it when the colour comes back 🙂
It’s like autumn – gorgeous but doesn’t last. 🙁
The air here is utterly fragrant today 🙂
Mmmm, wonderful. We had the same when my hyacinths were in bloom-they are pretty pungent!
I love hyacinths for that fragrance. I can only imagie the perfume is coming from the fields.
Lavender??
Far too early for that here..and much heavier. Like incense.
you seem ahead of us with the azaleas but otherwise much the same – cherry daffs still going – a good year for daffs I think. I should post a garden colour scene.
Would love to see it!
Now up there!
So much color… In New Jersey we are just starting up.
You’ll be in glorious color by the time we are heading into summer!
I’m so jealous!! The crocus have popped through the forsythia, but the rest of the buds/bulbs are still shut tight. Soon, sooon…. Your blooms are gorgeous. xo
Thank you! but they won’t last long – ’tis the way of spring! Right now we have some much colder air for a couple of days, so they’ll hang around a bit longer -but our high winds blow them off. Got in the pool for two days (water had warmed up to 65) but it’s too cold now! Hand in there – your spring is yet to come!
I’m celebrating the redness of the tree branches outside my bedroom window. They are getting ripe and ready for spring!!! xoxoxox
Impressionistic spring!
Oh so lovely…. Happy Spring! 🙂 xo
Happy Spring to you, too!
Lovely flowers!
Thanks, Lucia. Too bad they are so ephemeral!
Gorgeous photos! You;’re much farther along in Spring then we are if those blooms are any indication. I can’t wait to have a few of them here.
Thanks for sharing! 🙂
You know they’re on the way!
Beautiful, Noelle. Glad you can finally celebrate spring, after what seemed to be a very long winter. Enjoy!
Thanks, Sylvia!
I found the NC Spring to be so much more colourful and all in a rush (starting with the forsythias) whereas in New Zealand Spring seems to be spread over weeks and weeks in bits and pieces and is not nearly as wondrous or dramatic.
There’s something to be said for savoring!
Okay, what a difference a couple of weeks make. We have tulips! And daffodils! No azaleas yet – :-0
The weeping cherry has lost its blossoms and our azaleas are in full bloom!
