I know this link contains an ad for the publication (Imprimus) from Hillsdale College but the included video captures my thoughts on Memorial Day. Being an 82nd Airborn Army Mom makes this personal, and I thank God every day that my son came home.

I’ve just looked up the 82nd Airborne and these brave men were in the thick of it through so many different conflicts. The waiting for news must have been agonising.
It was – once when he was deployed to Afghanistan at a forward operating base in the mountains, we didn’t hear from him for six weeks. He doesn’t talk about his time there much.
Remembering and thankful…
A lovely and moving video tribute, Noelle.
Thanks, Bruce!
Lovely tribute for Memorial Day. I’m so glad for you that your son came home.
Thank you, Wendy!
It’s understandably more personal for you, Noelle. What a feeling that must be wondering, and worrying, while full of pride.
Very unsettling, Pete. And then when he did come home to surprise us, we were in NYC!
So moving, Noelle. I can’t watch these without getting choked up. A lovely share for the coming Memorial Day, and every day. Thank you for your and your family’s service. <3 <3
Thanks, Diana. I am so afraid that the more distant we get from these sacrifices, the more they will be forgotten.
The world, and our country, is going through some trauma right now. We’ve become so callous to death and sacrifice. I hope we don’t forget. 🙁
