I love, love Bruno Mars. His music makes me want to get up and dance! I also love all the old movies with the great hoofers: Fred Astaire, Ginger Rogers, Rita Hayworth, Gene Kelly, Cyd Charise, etc. (my Dad once danced with Ginger Rogers!),
So for your midweek entertainment, here is a You tube video of some great dancers hoofing it up to Bruno Mars and Uptown Funk.
Wheeeeee!!! I shall name drop and say I know someone whose father once danced with Ginger ROgers!
Of course! My Dad was a fantastic dancer himself. He said she was better!
I love this clip. It is a favourite – I even achieved some kudos by sending the link to my kids! So clever, whoever did it – it must have taken hours. Thanks for the reminder…I’m gonna sit right back and watch it again… 🙂
Glad you liked it. I chanced on it while looking at another You Tube and have watched it many times. It’s catchy and gives me a boost!
Ahhh takes me back… repeats of course but still
I grew up watching some of these movies (old at that time) – my hubs and I are particular to Busby Berkely.
I remember those, on Sunday morning TV. Cyd Charise was my dream…
She was pretty and special! I like Gwen Verdon…
That’s great music to get your day going.
Isn’t it? Happy feet…
OMG – this is so clever! I love it!
Isn’t it nice! They got just the right beat…
Ha, love this video! I’ve seen a lot of good ones with that song, it sure does make you want to get up and dance!
Bruno Mars makes me want to dance – I do like his beat!
It doesn’t get any better than that dose it!
I wonder what Fred Astaire would have thought of the music!
He would of, ‘just faced the music and danced’ 😀💜
Absolutelyl!
😱💜
Awesome! 🙂
Thanks, Bette.
That was pretty well put together by someone! And I think is a lesson that though musical styles may change over time, all music is created using the same basic principles of music theory. The beat really does go on…
Doesn’t it! I just wish I could dance like that!
I love Bruno Mars, and I love old musicals with Gene Kelly, Ginger Rogers, Fred Astaire or Frank Sinatra 🙂
Then this video is right up your alley!
I love old musicals as well and if there’s dancing, count me in! (not for dancing, though!) Thanks, Noelle!
Don’t you just wish you COULD get up there and hoof with them?
Awesome choice Noelle. This music, the style, makes me happy, Love Bruno, too.
Nice how he transcends generations, no?
What a clip of this fabulous dancing. So glad I grew up at a time when I got to see these films at the Varsity Theater in Evanston, Ill. Such talent that still makes me happy today. Thanks for this great post to get my day started just right!
Glad you liked it, Stepheny! I do remember the Varsity! This video makes me want to dance!
I love that clip! Bruno Mars is a worthy successor to Fred I think.
He’s pretty amazing. I just saw the one hour special preceding the release of his 24K album, which I will definitely download!
