As the mother of a serviceman, Memorial Day hits home. I am particularly affected by the upcoming anniversary of D-Day, when so many of our young men died on the beaches of Normandy. In many respects the French do a better job of honoring their sacrifice, with roadside memorials and plaques, but of course World War II was in part on their soil.
This weekend, please send up a prayer of thanks for all those who have chosen to serve and defend their country, past and present.
Thanks for this lovely and timely post!
Thanks, Barb!
Beautiful tribute, Noelle. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you, Natalie!
Sharing your timely message… Thanks and Prayers.
You’re welcome, Bette. I worry that we will forget….
Wouldn’t it be wonderful if our armies could be disbanded for a life of peace? I know your son would be out of a job, Noelle, but it’s a heartbreak for so many.
It would be lovely, but as long as ISIS, Hezbolla, and all the other terrorist group exist it’s not likely. Peace between countries is possible but not with people who are dedicated to your eradication.
